God speaks to us in his Word. Take a good look at this picture. I have Maja Thoenes to thank for creating this wonderful depiction of God speaking to us. His words, his book, is clearly seen. The background is blurred, out of focus—that is our lives. We cannot possibly understand everything about God, but take comfort in this fact: God is present in the words he gives to us!

”Hear me as I pray, O LORD. Be merciful and answer me!

Every relationship begins with communication. If you desire a relationship with your Heavenly Father, all you need to do is speak to him. Say this simple prayer, “LORD, I am coming to you today. I need you in my life. I need your Presence to surround and protect me. I need your love to penetrate my hard heart. I need a Savior, a helper, a friend, one in whom I can put my trust, one who loves me just as I am. Help me to listen to you and hear you through the words of Scripture. It is there that I will find you and your love for me.”
