Jesus puts our mind at ease with the following words. He describes himself as our Shepherd, one who leads, guides, and protects us. But these verses also describe us, “the sheep who trust the Shepherd.” They receive full protection and have total security when they do three things: they listen, they know, and they follow.
The Shepherd, Jesus, died for everyone; once and for all, he paid the price of redemption for our sin. It cost him his life! And here is your protection and security—if you believe in Jesus and follow him—you receive this promise: “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else.”
Listen, know and believe, then follow...this is a guarantee from God! His grace, at the cost of the Shepherd, Jesus, leads us into eternity, and THAT, my friends, is a truth you can depend on forever.
”Now God says he will accept and acquit us—declaring us ‘not guilty’—if we trust Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, by coming to Christ, no matter who we are or what we have been like.” Romans 3:22 TLB
